National School Counseling Week
This week is National School Counseling Week and we are extremely proud to celebrate our cherished School Counselors. The theme for 2022's focus week is "Better Together." School Counselors play a significant role in ensuring that our children are given opportunities for safe, enrichment in social and emotional learning and guidance for success outside of school. They work in tandem with the school's academic mission for all of our students. Our school counselors bring many years of experience and knowledge to their positions. Our Counselors are as follows: Bill Wallace Early Childhood - Alicia Spain; Grand Avenue Elementary - Raylee Butler; Chickasha Middle School - Jennifer Allen; and the High School has a team of three - Brian Collums, Kristi Davis, and Olivia Elliott.
Chickasha Public Schools has added several new positions this school year with the hiring of two Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Laurena Kleckner and Ashley Foster. You will find them at all school sites throughout the week. Kaitlyn Verser is also in a new position this year. She serves as our School Based Social Services Specialist. She aids students at all sites also. Rounding out our School Specialists Team is Cristie Oliver. Cristie is our Full-Time Graduation Coach. She works with the team at the high school to ensure our students completion of their high school careers with a plan for post-secondary life. Greg Gibson, faculty member at CMS, spends a portion of his day working as Graduation Coach with the Middle School students.
We are delighted to highlight ALL of our School Student Specialists this week. We are in 100% agreement that we as a District are "Better Together" through this team working with and for our students. Thank you for all your contributions to Chickasha Public Schools.
