September Board Meeting Highlights
The highlight of the September Board meeting was the Pledge of Allegiance led by Lincoln Students Brianna Garicia-Jimenez and Luna Castro. Principal Angie Morgan introduced them along with Federal Programs Instructor, Tish Kennedy, After the Pledge, they treated the Board and guests to the singing of "Las Mañanitas" celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
Chicken Express Employees of the Month were then honored by Brad and Kelly Wilkerson. Flor Zubiate was awarded the Support Employee of the Month. The Chicken Express Certified Employee of the Month is Tonya Yokum. Both are pictured here with Brad and Kelly. Congratulations to Flor and Ms. Yokum. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. Thank you to Brad and Kelly Wilkerson for their unwavering support of Chickasha Schools and our community.
Student Activities Director, Jerry Bray, then announced a generous donation from Steve LaForge. Mr. LaForge is a long-time supporter of Chickasha Schools and our community. His donation will impact ALL athletics teams, band and choirs. Thank you, Steve LaForge, for your generosity and it's impact on our students.
Superintendent Rick Croslin then presented his report highlighting the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences for our District. The District will be out of school on September 22nd. Teachers will report back Monday, September 25th for Professional Development. Student will return to classes Tuesday, September 26th. Child Nutrition Director, Leslie Edwards, presented to the Board an update for the District. We appreciate all that Leslie and her department of hard-working employees do for our students.
The next monthly Board meeting will be Monday, October 9th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Administration Building, 900 W. Choctaw.
