December Board Highlights
The December 11th board meeting was not only a platform for decision-making but also an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of both students and staff. The meeting began on an inspiring note with the Pledge of Allegiance led by students from the Grand's Teacher of the Year classroom. Kinsley, McArter, Bria Jeffries, Eden Molder, and Liam Wietlman exemplified leadership and pride in their school community.
Chicken Express employees of the month took center stage during the meeting. Sonja Pierson, recognized as Certified Employee of the Month, and Kendra Curtis, named Support Employee of the Month, were commended for their exceptional contributions to the school. The spotlight then turned to the outstanding educators who received well-deserved recognition. Site Teachers of the Year were presented with commemorative plaques by the Board Members. The honorees included Mary Curtis from Bill Wallace Early Childhood Center, Megan Crowder from Grand Avenue Elementary, Mike Elliott from Lincoln Elementary, Greg Gibson from Chickasha Middle School, and Bethany Goble as the High School Site Teacher of the Year. The District Teacher of the Year reveal is scheduled for later in the year at the CPS Foundation Gala. The board concluded the recognition segment by expressing pride in the collective efforts of the staff and teachers. Their unwavering commitment to the students and the broader school community is a testament to the positive impact they make daily.
