Chickasha Public Schools is excited to announce the Class of 2024 to the Hall of Honor. The Hall of Honor was established in 2023 to celebrate those special individuals who have contributed to the welfare of humanity, brought unusually positive attention to Chickasha Public Schools and community, and modeled the highest personal and professional qualities for our students. CPS received numerous high-quality applications for this special honor again this year. After a thoughtful and careful review, the following people were selected for the Class of 2024.
Mrs. Judy L. Duprez – Mrs. Duprez was renowned as an outstanding teacher and leader form colleagues, parents and students. Many have shared memories of her as a caring, engaging, challenging, and respected teacher to everyone that entered her classroom. She was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she was an accomplished student receiving several awards and honors. In the fall of 1975, she joined the faculty of Chickasha High School teaching English. Additionally, she was involved in the Oklahoma Council of Teachers of English, serving as President, and the National Council of Teachers of English where she served as a Secondary Chair. She retired from CPS in 2014.
Mr. Harly M. Day – From serving in the Navy during World War II to being the Principal of Chickasha High School, Mr. Day knew what it meant to give back to others and how to make a difference. Mr. Day joined Chickasha Public Schools in 1950 as the head boys’ basketball coach that won the State Championships in 1953 and 1955. He went on to be the head coach of baseball and golf, and was an assistant for football. He became the Principal of Chickasha High School in 1958 and remained there until 1977. With a combined total of over 50 years in education, Mr. Day has been selected to the Grady County Administrators Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and was named a member of the Jim Thorpe All Decade team for the 1940’s. In his personal time, he sang in the quartet “The Ramblin Notes” for 32 years while being involved of other programs around the community.
Mr. James Glaze – Mr. Glaze joined Chickasha Public Schools in 1983 as a teacher/coach and would retire over 30 years later as the Superintendent of
Schools in 2014. His career with CPS started as an 8 th grade Civics teacher and coached football, basketball, and baseball. He would go on to become
Assistant Principal for Chickasha Junior High School, Principal of Lincoln Elementary, and Principal of Chickasha High School before moving over to
District administration in 2002. In 2006, he was named Superintendent of Chickasha Public Schools. During his tenure he worked to pass numerous
bond issues and oversaw the construction of the CHS Activity Center and Bill Wallace Early Childhood Center. In January 2014, Mr. Glaze announced his
